Leading with Hope and Imaginationfacilitated by Dr.
Michael Queen, Pastor Emeritus, First Baptist Church, Wilmington, NC

Alan Jones has said ministry is both “sacrifice and delight.” Leadership is much the same. One who leads must be comfortable with the risks and sacrifices that are required to get to a place of delight and achievement. How do we get comfortable with risk and sacrifice in our setting?

Re-Imagine: Embracing God’s Creativity in the Local Churchfacilitated by Dr. Sarah Boberg, Assistant Professor of Christian Education, Campbell University Divinity School, Buies Creek, NC
God shows God’s creative nature throughout creation, in the stories of our faith, and in the uniqueness of each person’s gifts and personalities. The same creativity can be embraced in church ministry. Join this interactive session to exercise dreaming big for ministry within the local church context.

11:00 AM

Re-Imagine Blending Tradition and Innovation in Your Congregationfacilitated by Rev. Jack Glasgow, Pastor Emeritus of Zebulon Baptist Church, Zebulon, NC
No one wants to own a sailboat without both an anchor and sails. The anchor keeps the craft moored when needed, the unfurled sails allow the vessel to sale beautiful waters. Too often a congregation incorrectly believes it must choose between tradition and innovation, failing to understand both are essential to health, growth, relevance and vitality. In this session, explore with others effective strategies for linking tradition and heritage with forward thinking vision and openness to innovation and to promote congregational health.

Re-Imagining Ministry Across the Streetfacilitated by Revs. Thomas and Meagan Greene, co-pastors of First Baptist Church, Erwin, NC
It is often said by church members, “We need to get outside of our four walls!” In the many commands of Jesus, there is also a responsibility of the church to love their neighbor and their neighborhood. In this session you will get helpful tips and spark your imagination on how you can engage your local communities and live out Christ’s command.
